Connor Miko hails from the hard-working Midwest, and he shapes how UNCHARTED® looks, reads and sounds to the world.
His journey into adventure travel began with a two-week trek around Iceland’s Ring Road: camping on black sand beaches, hiking through ice caves and scaling extinct volcanoes.
Since then he has explored Kenya’s savannas on his honeymoon, the rugged country of Chile and Argentina, and the misty mountains of British Columbia. Whether it is a new city, a towering peak, a vast ravine or a dense forest, Connor finds his inspiration in the raw beauty of the world, and he is passionate about great coffee, a good book and lively conversation.
In Tanzania he gave up the vehicle altogether.
In Ruaha, with a rifle resting quietly on the lap of his guide, Pay Mbaryo, he walked more than twelve miles over a couple of days, across dry riverbeds, through acacia scrub and along predator trails, and slept in a fly camp with the Milky Way overhead and elephants somewhere beyond the light. He has sat with Hamza at Sand Rivers to talk about what sets Tanzania’s Southern Circuit apart, and in early 2026 he and Lindsay Berg went to Puqio in Peru’s Colca Canyon to see it for themselves.
Connor has been part of UNCHARTED® since July 2018, back in the Outside GO days, when he designed the homepage, the Bush Homes of Kenya pages and the GO Guide.
Today, as Creative Director, he blends design and marketing to connect the brand with the travelling world, pushing media and message into new forms. He edits and designs The Friday Dispatch, building every issue by hand, writes for the Global Safari Magazine, and turns the crew’s stories from the field into the way UNCHARTED® shows up online and in your inbox.
