The Zambezi National Park is located upstream from Victoria Falls, with terrain varying between riverine woodland, dry riverbeds, rocky outcrops and spring-lines with a gradual escarpment leading towards the Kazungula road split.
The national park and surrounding game management areas are considered one of the most important wilderness and wildlife areas in the country.
Large mammals include elephant, hippo, buffalo, waterbuck, zebra, impala, bushbuck, and kudu, while carnivores include solid numbers of leopard, lion, and hyena.
