B Corp & The Long Run

Every journey leaves two marks.

One on the earth, one on the person. We have spent three decades trying to make the first one lighter and the second one permanent.

Long before the certificate

It was worked out in a tent.

Long before there was a certificate for it, there was ol Donyo: Maasai staff from the ranches around it, a handful of guests on land that pays its owners to stay wild. The land is owned by the Mbirikani Group Ranch, and the Maasai benefit from every night a guest sleeps on it.

The old parks drew a line and moved the people out, and it didn’t work. Conservation is not our values statement. It is our supply chain.

2PlanetSecond, not separate. In the bush it is the same fight.
3ProfitLast, and it pays for the other two.
Land stays wild when the people living beside it are better off with the wildlife than without it.The idea UNCHARTED® is built on
Certified B Corporation

Certified B Corporation

The whole business, verified.

B Lab, a nonprofit, verifies companies against standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency, across the whole business, and re‑certifies them on a cycle, so it cannot be earned once and left on a shelf. For UNCHARTED® it formalizes what the company has practised since 1991.

None of this changes what we do. It just means you don’t have to simply take our word for it anymore.
