Richard’s River Camp: Safari Like Hemingway
Richard’s Camp is one of those iconic outpoststhat evokes the safaris of a bygone era.
Why it's unique
With only seven tents, this camp is ideal for individuals as well as groups who wish to experience the Mara intimately. Fabrics and furnishings offer a setting that conjures classic Out of Africa vibes.
The Masai Mara, alongside Tanzania’s Serengeti, is a premier wildlife haven, celebrated for its rich diversity and classic safari allure. Nestled in a riverine forest amidst short grass plains, this camp embodies both exclusivity and adventure, reflecting a legacy from Richard’s grandparents who settled in Kenya nearly 75 years ago. They established a pioneering conservation camp on Lake Baringo, hosting early flying safaris, including an expedition with Prince Philip in the 1960s.
