Tented Camps
Enjoy the True Safari Spirit of the Maasai Mara
Tangulia is the only camp in the Maasai Marareserve area that is entirely locally ownedand run.
Why it's unique
This southern Kenyan property overlooks the Olotulo-Murt salt lick, nestled on the western boundary of Mara Reserve. There are only eight tents with a maximum capacity of 18 guests at a time, so it is truly intimate and curated.
At Tangulia Mara, immerse yourself in an authentic Mara experience with game drives through Musiara Marsh, sundowners amidst the sounds of the plains, and hearty family-style dinners at camp. As the only locally owned and operated camp in the Mara, it supports the community, particularly female guides. Enjoy morning views of elephants at a nearby salt lick and wildlife roaming freely around the unfenced property, with Askaris providing a safe experience.

Masai Mara, Kenya
The Masai Mara in southwestern Kenya boasts vast savanna plains, iconic acacia trees, and the Mara River, which sustains abundant wildlife and drives the annual wildebeest migration. Its diverse landscape blends grasslands and rocky outcrops.
How To Get There
Most visitors fly from Nairobi to the Masai Mara, a 45–60 minute flight, to avoid poor roads and maximize safari time. From the airstrip, a 4x4 takes you to your lodge or camp.
Flora & Fauna
The Masai Mara is home to over 95 mammal species, including the Big Five. Its landscape features acacia trees, grasslands, and shrubs.
Cultural Impact
The Masai Mara is culturally significant as part of the Maasai people’s traditional lands. Their stewardship has preserved the ecosystem, creating a symbiotic link between their heritage and conservation.
