Meet Letsogile ‘Lets’ Kamogelo, an ardent naturalist and conservationist. Lets is an amazing photographic guide who goes out of his way to also empower youth; doing photographic workshops and environmental presentations at local schools to inspire future generations.
Born and raised in the Tuli Block in eastern Botswana, where nature dominates, his early appreciation of his surrounds was apparent on the canvases and paintings he created during his favorite class – art – at school. Before realizing his true passion, he spent a year teaching arts and crafts in a middle school and then studying Hospitality and Tourism.
In 2007, Lets found his vocation as a safari guide, joining a team of accomplished private guides. Lets’ artistic flair was soon transformed into a talent for photography. He stepped into the limelight in 2012 when he won his first photographic award and in the same year he was published in Africa Geographic magazine, among others.
In addition to being one of the region’s most skilled and sought-after professional photographic guides, he ensures that hundreds of travelers experience life-changing journeys in Botswana. Lets goes above and beyond to share his skills with many others, too.

Since 2014, Lets has been going back to his local school at his home in Bobonong to educate students about nature and conservation – all of this during his free time. This truly sets him apart as he uses his leave to inspire youth to make a difference to the protection of our planet.
Furthermore, Lets is a patron of the Matshekge High School Wildlife Club, which focuses on making a difference in children’s lives by introducing conservation to them at an early age. This helps familiarize them with environmental issues while discovering a wide range of career opportunities in tourism, as well as exploring their talents in visual art through photographic presentations.
Lets is grateful that he has been able to launch these initiatives while he is still young and has the energy to drive them. He is currently looking at extending the program to other communities within Maun and beyond and his development projects will be utilized for Children in the Wilderness Eco-Clubs.
