UNCHARTED

, constantly redefines the art of high-end adventure travel by creating personally transformative experiences that have positive economic, ecological, and cultural impacts in some of the world's most spectacular and precious destinations.

,

The Global Safari Brand

Led by Chip and Sandy Cunningham, who got started in the safari field by managing the singular Ol Donyo Wuas lodge in Kenya, UNCHARTED has for decades been cultivating working relationships with operators worldwide who share our commitment to doing things the right way, for the benefit of the places and people where they operate, and for our guests who are fortunate to visit them. We call this network the UNCHARTED Global Safari Alliance, and we invite those who move through this world with us to take to heart The Global Safari Code.

A way of traveling, a compass for the wild.

1.

I honor the wild not as a backdrop for my own enjoyment, but as living, sacred ground.

2.

I will travel with presence. I am here to witness, to listen, and to be changed.

3.

I will tread lightly, but stand firmly for what matters. Conservation is not passive; I will protect what cannot protect itself.

4.

I will follow nature’s rhythms, not my own. Dawn, dusk, silence, storms, wildlife — these are the real guides.

5.

I will give more than I take. My journey enriches the places and people I encounter.

6.

I will lift up the unsung voices — the tracker, the camp cook, the community elder. This story is theirs, too.

7.

I will walk with humility, even in luxury. True luxury is respect for the land, the wildlife, and the legacy of its stewards.

8.

I will honor every Outpost as a living ecosystem – not just a lodging full of creature comforts, but a pulse point in a greater web of life.

9.

I will see every safari, every journey and adventure, as a chance to evolve. The wild doesn’t just show us the world, it shows us ourselves.

10.

I will not commodify the sacred. A sunset is not
