Why it's unique

This lodge rose from the ashes of the 2019 Kangaroo Island bushfires, and was rebuilt with a design that honors its stunning clifftop seaside setting.

Known as Australia’s Galápagos, Kangaroo Island is a land of curious critters: Hear black cockatoos cracking oak cones, penguins calling to mates, echidnas scuttling up the shore, koalas munching eucalyptus, and spot wallabies hopping about.

From Adelaide, fly into Kingscote Airport or take one of the three-daily ferries.

Flora & Fauna

Eucalyptus forests and wildflowers speckle the island; platypuses, sea lions, pelicans, ospreys, koalas, kangaroos, and wallabies are just some of the wildlife to spot.

Cultural Impact

The lodge works with local Aboriginal communities to ensure their stories and cultural practices are respectfully shared with visitors.
